Ana Lali\u0107 Hegedi\u0161, executive director of the Independent Journalists’ Association of Vojvodina (NDNV), has received horrific death threats on her Facebook profile. She was told that she would be “burnt like a witch” and that before being burnt she would first have her eyes gouged out.<\/h2>\n

Lali\u0107 Hegedi\u0161 reported both threats to the Special Prosecution Office for High-Tech Crime.<\/p>\n

This was immediately preceded by a break-in at NDNV’s premises in Novi Sad by three perpetrators.<\/p>\n

Lali\u0107 Hegedi\u0161 stated that the NDNV doesn’t want to prejudge the case by claiming to know the motive behind the break-in, but that there can be no ruling out of the possibility that it is linked to the many months of targeting and brutal campaigns by the government and pro-government media outlets, which even claim that the NDNV is the leader of civil and student protests.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
