{"id":5684,"date":"2020-06-15T13:08:42","date_gmt":"2020-06-15T11:08:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.slavkocuruvijafondacija.rs\/?p=5684"},"modified":"2020-06-15T13:08:42","modified_gmt":"2020-06-15T11:08:42","slug":"nineteen-years-without-progress-in-investigation-into-the-murder-of-journalist-milan-pantic","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/scf.clickr.rs\/en\/nineteen-years-without-progress-in-investigation-into-the-murder-of-journalist-milan-pantic\/","title":{"rendered":"Nineteen years without progress in investigation into the murder of journalist Milan Panti\u0107"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>June 15, 2020<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>The Commission for Investigating Murders of Journalists has again requested that the Special Prosecutor&#8217;s Office for Organised Crime take over responsibility for the case of the murder of journalist Milan Panti\u0107, a correspondent of national daily newspaper Ve\u010dernji novosti from the city of Jagodina, which occurred on 11<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0June 2001.<\/h2>\n<p>According to Veran Mati\u0107, president of the Commission, the Special Prosecutor&#8217;s Office has ignored a request to open an investigation in this case for two years, while the Commission believes deeply that he was murdered for tenaciously investigating questionable privatisations in Jagodina and providing the public with detailed reporting of his findings.<\/p>\n<p>Panti\u0107 was returning home from shopping on 11<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0June 2001 when he was stopped in front of his apartment, at the entrance to the building where he lived. He was beaten to death with a metal object by an unknown attacker or attackers.<\/p>\n<p>Nineteen years on and the case has not been resolved, the killers have not been deprived of their liberty and
