{"id":6021,"date":"2020-12-31T11:12:47","date_gmt":"2020-12-31T10:12:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.slavkocuruvijafondacija.rs\/?p=6021"},"modified":"2020-12-31T11:12:47","modified_gmt":"2020-12-31T10:12:47","slug":"member-of-regulatory-body-for-electronic-media-resigns-in-protest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/scf.clickr.rs\/en\/member-of-regulatory-body-for-electronic-media-resigns-in-protest\/","title":{"rendered":"Member of Regulatory Body for Electronic Media Resigns in Protest"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>December 31, 2020<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>After the beginning of this year finally saw the Regulatory Body for Electronic Media (REM) start working in its full composition of nine members, the end of the year was marked by one member resigning in protest over the election of the president of that body.<\/h2>\n<p>Slobodan Cveji\u0107, one of two members of the REM Council elected at the beginning of 2020, tendered his resignation due to what he dubbed &#8220;brutal violations of democratic procedures\u201d in the election of Olivera Zeki\u0107 as REM president. It was just a few days earlier that Zeki\u0107 had been re-elected as a member of the REM at the proposal of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking in an interview for Cenzolovka, Cveji\u0107 said that the REM is today a political battlefield and not an independent institution. Another member of the REM Council elected at the beginning of 2020, Judita Popovi\u0107, considers the election of the REM president as being illegal and representing a\u00a0coup by a group within the
